Route 98

Route 98 is a new area located just north of the Lake of Rage in Johto. It connects Johto to a new region called TCG Island. In addition to wild Pokémon encounters, this route features a special building that houses one of Johto’s biggest challenges and contains many references: Shared Manga Studio.
Shared Manga Studio
As the name suggests, this location is a manga studio that offers a unique challenge: defeating the five Mangaka Trainers found inside. Each of them is named after a famous real-life mangaka and uses Pokémon inspired by their respective works. To assist the player during the challenge, there is an NPC who fully heals your Pokémon, as well as access to a PC.

The Reward
After defeating all the Mangakas, you can speak with the NPC who heals your Pokémon. As a reward, they will offer you any starter Pokémon of your choice, limited to the standard starter Pokémon.
