Overview

Saffron Underground, a “secret” area located in Saffron City in Kanto, is a place that contains some special items and new NPCs, but everyone there cares about only one thing: money, and they’ll do anything to get it.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements, although more content is unlocked here as you progress the story.

Items & Clothing

Saffron Underground contains several unique items, such as: Poké Bahl, Funky Spray, and Tainted Candy, as well as some outfits: Zen Pin, Purple Mask, and Marsh Badge Cape.

Poké Bahl

Description of the Poké Bahl item in the character’s bag.

“A cheap Chinese knockoff Pokéball. Looks real, but don't expect it to work.”

As the description suggests, it’s a regular Poké Ball but cheaper, costing 100₽. However, it fails when attempting to catch a Pokémon. If you try to use it, the message appears:

“...but it's a cheap knockoff and failed miserably.”

Tainted Candy

“Sweet as sin. Just... don't read the ingredients.”

Tainted Candy works like an Exp Candy, it grants 500 XP when used on a Pokémon. However, it makes the Pokémon hate you, decreasing its friendship. It costs 800₽.

Funky Spray

Description of the Funky Spray item in the character’s bag.

“A stinky repel that attracts Pokémon for 100 steps.”

This item works like a Repel, except it attracts wild Pokémon instead of repelling them. It lasts for 100 steps, the same as a regular Repel, and costs 800₽.

It is currently blocked by bikers who prevent you from going further.
